1. Pole-mounted lighting: Luminaires are installed on poles, generally 1-2 lights per pole. This method is used for outdoor courts.

Generally, a four-pole or six-pole arrangement is adopted, as shown in the figure. The installation height of luminaires is greater than 7m, and floodlights are used to achieve better uniformity.

2. Starry sky layout: Luminaires are arranged above the playing area, with light beams perpendicular to the court plane.

Advantages: High horizontal illuminance, uniform illuminance, and low glare.

Disadvantages: Low vertical illuminance, inconvenient installation and maintenance.

Application: This method is mostly used in basketball training halls, or indoor venues of schools and factories, where vertical illuminance requirements are not high.

3. Catwalk lighting: Luminaires are arranged on both sides of the court, with light beams not perpendicular to the court plane.

The aiming angle of the luminaires should not exceed 65 degrees, preferably less than 60 degrees, in order to prevent glare.

Advantages: High vertical illuminance, uniform illuminance, and convenient installation and maintenance.

Disadvantages: Greater glare.

Application: This method is mainly used in indoor basketball halls with television broadcasting requirements, and is also suitable for basketball training halls. Due to its simple installation and convenient maintenance, it is increasingly widely used.

Basketball court lighting now basically uses LED light sources. If conditions allow, lay electrical wires and install poles; if not, you can purchase solar-powered storage systems for lighting.
