Do you often do this?
After work and dinner, you meet up with a few close friends,
and go to a nearby sports venue to play ball.
A casual basketball game is enough to feel thoroughly satisfied!
Love sports, love life.
With the popularity of sports venue lighting,
nighttime sports have become the best way for most office workers
to relax in their spare time.
Therefore, the configuration of sports lighting
has become an extremely important part of sports venues.
In general, it mainly includes two aspects:
meeting illuminance standards and lighting quality requirements.
Let's learn more together.
01 Illuminance
Reasonable illuminance not only ensures athletes perform normally and referees make accurate judgments, but also ensures the comfort of spectators watching the game on site and in front of TV. Different sports require different illuminance levels. In addition, sports events, commercial activities, etc. also have different illuminance requirements.
02 Lighting Uniformity
Both indoor gymnasiums and outdoor stadiums have high requirements for lighting uniformity. Taking a basketball hall as an example, more lights are often concentrated in the middle area, but areas with excessive light tend to produce glare, while the backboard area often has weaker lighting brightness. Ensuring uniform lighting across the entire venue is crucial for athletes' performance.
Indoor gymnasium lighting
03 Glare
Glare refers to visual conditions caused by inappropriate luminance distribution in the field of view or extreme brightness contrast in space or time, resulting in visual discomfort and reduced visibility of objects. In order to ensure uniform illuminance from all angles, the elevation angle from the lowest projection point of the gymnasium to the luminaire must be greater than 45°. Since the current light sources in gymnasiums are positioned relatively high and dispersed, in order to prevent direct light from hitting athletes or spectators, many lighting designers usually fold the upper part of the shading plate to hide the luminaire inside. In this way, the light-emitting surface cannot be seen from near or far, and the light will not shine directly into people's eyes.
04 Light Source Color Rendering
The degree to which a light source renders the colors of objects is called color rendering, that is, the fidelity of colors. For light sources with high color rendering, the colors we see are closer to the original colors.
01 Light Source Selection
Gymnasiums host various sports events and need to coordinate light source layout according to the requirements of different sports activities. Generally speaking, sports activities held in indoor sports venues are divided into two categories: one requires larger space, such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, etc., while the other requires smaller space, including weightlifting, swimming, boxing, etc. Therefore, multi-functional comprehensive gymnasiums usually need to be equipped with dimming devices and control circuits to change lighting methods and illuminance levels to match different lighting purposes and stage effects.
02 Luminaire Selection
Gymnasium lighting sources can use various types of luminaires such as metal halide lamps and LED lamps. Today, LED lamps are widely used internationally as sports lighting sources. Because metal halide lamps' power changes with grid voltage fluctuations and are prone to overload, most sports venues choose more stable LED lamps. Constant current power drivers can keep the light source power unchanged during grid voltage fluctuations.

Wise Lighting GSM Series LED court lights

Applicable venues: basketball courts, football fields, natatoriums, and other sports venues
The lighting layout plan conducts a detailed analysis of the venue floor plan, achieving illuminance requirements for different levels of competitions and commercial activities through reasonable luminaire arrangement and different lighting modes. In addition, emergency lighting layout is also very important. In case of sudden power failure, the backup power supply can automatically turn on emergency lights to help athletes and spectators evacuate the venue.
Outdoor stadium lighting
High-quality court lights draw lively crowds to sports venues and create a vibrant sporting atmosphere! As more and more people exercise at night, solo enjoyment has turned into shared enjoyment. Develop a good exercise habit. Although it may be tiring at first, when you have a healthier body, younger appearance, and happier mental state than your peers, you will surely feel that all that sweat was worth it.
